outh Dakota based songwriter and worship leader, Naomi Dappen began writing songs from spontaneous moments during prayer and worship nights.
A pastorβs kid and the 13th of 14 children, Naomi grew up immersed in worship and prayer.
A wife and mother of 3, she wrote songs at the piano while her toddlers played. It was during this season a passion to tell stories through song developed. Later, she worked for a church as a worship leader until she transitioned to be the Worship Director of a young adult ministry (tre Ministries) based out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There, she leads worship nights and trains young adults to lead worship. Her heartβs cry is to lead people to the feet of Jesus and be part of the restoration of His bride. She aims to write songs that tell stories and are a source of healing.
Outside of Jesus and her family, she loves traveling, pretending to be Joanna Gaines, eating Indian food, and whooping her kids at MarioKart.

In my impatience I struggle to lean in, and sometimes I try to drag God in a direction that looks right in my own eyes. But his grace is that gentle tug, his kindness is the reminding: itβs not up to me. This is the song Iβve sang to recalibrate, to shift back to slow.
